Letter From the President

Welcome!

My name is Flora DeMoss, and I am proud to serve as Tri Delta’s Collegiate Chapter President at Louisiana State University. I am so honored to represent nearly 350 members as they navigate their college experience; however, I could not do my job alone. I am grateful to have the support of the Executive Committee and over 65 officers who work to make each member’s Tri Delta experience unforgettable. Since 1888, Tri Delta has brought together collegiate women with the purpose of establishing a perpetual bond of friendship among its members, developing a stronger and more womanly character, broadening the moral and intellectual life, and assisting its members in every possible way.

Over the past three years, Tri Delta has impacted my life in more ways than I can count. My favorite thing about Tri Delta is its members, who live out our core values of truth, self-sacrifice, and friendship along with embracing our motto of “Let us steadfastly love one another.” The Delta love truly radiates from the inside out; with one glance inside our kitchen at lunch time, our courtyard in the afternoon, or during a movie night in “The Pearl” room, the love, light, and spirit of Tri Delta is evident. Not just within our walls, but on campus, in our community, and all over the world, the light that these women radiate reaches far and wide, loving without limits or bounds. The women in this organization encourage one another by embracing their authenticity to the fullest and in each woman’s individuality, we challenge one another to grow. These woman and this organization have shaped me into the person I am now and the woman I am becoming. For this, the continued good that Tri Delta emanates, the values that guide us, the constant and consistent support and encouragement, and for the love within our sorority that extends to all, I am forever grateful.

The Tri Delta love continues to radiate as our members extend their hand in service through our philanthropic efforts both locally and nationally. Tri Delta prides itself on its philanthropic partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For the past three years, Delta Omega has been the number one fundraising chapter in the nation. Throughout the year, our chapter hosts several events to raise money for St. Jude. Our favorite event is 15K in a Day, where we raised over $160,000 dollars in just 24 hours! Delta Omega is so grateful for our donors and the community’s continued support of St. Jude.

Membership in Tri Delta places emphasis on academic excellence, philanthropic efforts, and holding each member accountable for their potential success. Tri Delta has proven to be a place where each member is loved exactly for who they are. Every day, I am amazed by the members of Tri Delta and what they accomplish, and I am eager to see what this year has in store for our chapter.

Delta Love and Mine,

Flora DeMoss
