President's Letter

My name is Elizabeth Bueche, and I am proud to serve as the Chapter President for the Delta Omega chapter of Tri Delta. Since 1888, Tri Delta has brought together collegiate women with the purpose of establishing a perpetual bond of friendship among its members, developing a stronger and more womanly character, broadening the moral and intellectual life, and assisting its members in every possible way.

I have the honor of leading Delta Omega during an unprecedented time. Our chapter accepted the challenges that COVID-19 presented and has continued to experience growth and sisterhood in ways we had never imagined. We have supported our sisters through times of loss and hardship and have found unique ways to connect while social distancing. Thankfully, we have had each other to lean on during this time.

Our chapter is filled with over 300 unique and diverse women from all over the United States. Our members are brave, bold, and kind, and they continue to amaze me every single day. One of my favorite aspects of my Tri Delta membership is seeing our members live out our core values of truth, self-sacrifice, and friendship in the Baton Rouge community. Additionally, I am proud to share that Delta Omega was the top fundraising Tri Delta chapter for our philanthropy, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, last year. We raised $190,723 and received the Heart of St. Jude Award in 2020. This feat is truly amazing considering the challenges associated with fundraising during a pandemic. We were grateful to our donors for their continued support of St. Jude.

Delta Omega has nearly 70 officers who work diligently to support the chapter in meeting, and often exceeding, its goals. All members are encouraged to showcase and grow their talents and build leadership skills in order to become the very best version of themselves. The compassion the members have for each other continues to inspire me. We believe it is extremely important for our members to be loved, heard, and seen, especially during these difficult times.

Membership in Tri Delta does not last for only four years. Our members form bonds with one another that last far beyond their college experience. We laugh and we cry together. We pick each other up and push each other to keep going when the going gets tough. Our bonds of sisterhood last a lifetime, and we look forward to welcoming new sisters during recruitment this fall!

Delta Love and Mine,

Elizabeth Bueche
